How to Measure a Gasket Frame
All standard gasket frame dimensions should be measured edge to edge even if the gasket has snap-in darts.
Note: This is not the case when measuring for custom-made gasket frames. When ordering custom-made screw-in style frames, the dimensions should be measured edge to
edge. When ordering custom-made snap-in style frames, the dimensions should be measured dart to dart.

Pre-Installation Tips
- Allow replacement gasket to reach room temperature before unfolding.
- Carry gasket by its corners and avoid squeezing folds to prevent breaking the internal magnetic strip.
- Thoroughly clean the area of the door where the gasket attaches, and the cabinet perimeter that the gasket face contacts.

Distortions
Our gaskets are made from a vinyl material which can become distorted from folding. The folding is necessary to allow a practical and economically sized shipping parcel.
The vinyl material retains a "memory" of its original shape so any distortions or kinks will only be temporary.
Return to the original shape can be greatly accelerated by the application of heat, for example:
- Immerse gasket in 140-185°F water for 15 to 30 minutes before installing.
- Apply heat from an electric hair dryer or heat lamp before and after installation. Care must be taken not to overheat which could stretch or melt the material.

Magnetic Seal
Magnetic gaskets usually will not form a strong seal when first installed, they normally require a few weeks to totally develop their maximum contact and strength.

Field Repairs
If the vinyl material is accidentally torn or damaged, it can usually be adequately repaired by welding with a soldering iron or gluing with a vinyl adhesive.
